Sickness Absence Management

Sickness absence costs the UK millions of pounds every year. We understand that small businesses can not afford to bear the costs of sickness absence management so we provide expert advice and support to help you manage the situation.

Sickness absence can take the form of short term sickness absence and long term sickness absence. The major cause of sickness absence with non-manual workers is stress, for manual workers the main cause is musculoskeletal illnesses.

Short term sickness may include regular intermittent days off which may or may not follow a pattern and the Monday-Friday syndrome which may cause continuity problems in your business.

Long term sickness may include sickness that lasts several weeks or more.

Whatever type of sickness absence you are faced with, you need to deal with it quickly. You also need to ensure you have a sickness absence procedure in place and comply with SSP requirements if you do not offer occupational sick pay.
